Hey network ninjas,
We are about to unwrap the exciting new features of our latest release in this and in our upcoming blogs. To get us started, let’s get our hands on our new feature “the product mode selector” in this blog.
Before we move on, Trisul welcomes Fresh logins!
If you are just joining us, Trisul Network Analytics is basically a platform offering a spectrum of streaming network monitoring solutions for organizations and enterprises. We handle use cases that require distinct product features according to our customer’s requirements.
We observed that our uses cases fell into four distinct categories – NetFlow Analyzer, Packet Based Network Security Monitoring, IPDR Flow Logging for Compliance, and ISP Peering and Route Analytics.
The platform is productized by creating and tweaking various configurations such as Counter Groups, Flows, Packet retention, and so on.
Over time, we observed that manually enabling configurations on every product installation was a cumbersome process and developed a new feature “the product mode selector”. Without this, you had to
- Create new Counter Groups for the product feature
- Make configuration changes to put the product in NetFlow or PCAP mode
- Enable Alerts based on the product
- Switching the Flow Storage Compression and Indexing policies for IPDR mode
- Create users and dashboards
- And so on..
This process might increase the likelihood of manual errors and inaccurate setup. But with Trisul’s “Product Mode Selector” those days are behind! Although the product mode selector is a new development, our product suite has a long-standing establishment. The product mode selector, on the first login offers to simply select from four operational modes, say,
- Trisul NetFlow Analyzer
- Trisul NSM – Network Security Monitoring
- Trisul ISP – ISP/BGP/Peering Analytics
- Trisul IPDR – Flow/NAT/AAA Logger for Telco Regulatory Compliance
Once the product mode is selected according to your requirement, all the configuration setups are automatically taken care of. You just need to select the mode, and no further manual intervention is required to activate the product which makes the starting process smooth. Or you can also skip the product selection to explore the features first and select the appropriate product mode later on your next login as well.
Moreover, for custom scenarios, you can also choose to manually configure the product setup from the product mode selector which allows you to customize the configuration like before. So now you can just select, click and you’re done!
Upgrade to Trisul 7.0.3171 for a seamless product configuration experience.
